Review of the Catalina 27 by Bill Truglio

Normal wind strength 10-15 knots

If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes  
Gear that's been added Double Bunk.  
Structural or complex improvements  
The boat's best features Handles well, fast, sails well on upwind tack.  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Bilge pump, Depth Sounder, Engine runs hot.  
Sailing characterisitcs Excellent downwind reach, stears well... even in reverese with the tiller.  
Motoring characterisitcs moderate control in forward, very good control in reverse (with tiller), engine runs hot.  
Liveability Much better with the double bunk.
