Review of the Catalina 25 by Jud cary

Year built 1984
Location of boat Grapevine TX
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 1999
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? maybe, I plan to hhave this boat for a few years and then upgrade to either a newer cat 30 or maybe a cat 320
Gear that's been added added a spinnaker pole, the boat came with a spinnaker and alll the rigging but no pole. Also, I put clam cleats next to each winch for the Jib. It was a great Idea since most of my friend had a hard time tying off the jib sheets with the cleats
Structural or complex improvements no
The boat's best features roomy yet small. Also, the bilt in swim latter, pop top are nice since It gets very hot in texas
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. the main sheet traveler gets in the way of the tiller when tacking and storage of the tiller when at anchor
Sailing characterisitcs the boat sails great. most of my freind have bigger boats but I am able to keep up with them in light to moderate winds.
Motoring characterisitcs don't like to motor wastes gas and makes nosie
Liveability I would not like to live on it past maybe 2 nights
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
