Year built 1992
Location of boat Harbor Island San Diego Ca
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Day sailing
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? Yes
Owner bought the boat in 1998
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? I might buy a Catalina 34 MK II However, I do Like the boat very much. Yes I would buy this boat again
Gear that's been added The boat come with a cold plate and windlass I bought rear perch seats from a Dallas based firm. The boat was sold new by H
Structural or complex improvements No !!
The boat's best features Size and sailing ability. It was great in Cherry Cove for 10 day this summer..
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. The Auto Helm Speed Indicator starts @ triple speed and then after around 2 hours begins to work , However, If you begin course changes it goes nuts again. Large V birth window seal has come loose. and that is it.
Sailing characterisitcs Sheeting will slow the boat and in winds of 15 I don't let the genoa completely out or if I do I move the inside genoa track leads aft and push the main travler to leeward then I pinch and pray. Your up and down in chop
Motoring characterisitcs 2600 rpm = 6.4 kt unless running into 12 kt wind and current of Catalina with chop then down to 3.4 kts 2900 rpm is 6.9 kt Engine is 25xp 23hp universal
Liveability Execelent for a 30'sailboat.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any)
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any A very good Experience. A man named Harold Del Rosario was ver helpful.
