Location of boat Dunedin, Florida
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength less than 10 knots
Average size of crew 2-4
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2009
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Absolutely! Very good pocket cruiser for the price.
Gear that's been added None
Structural or complex improvements None
The boat's best features Ease of sailing, comfortable v-berth.
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Inverter. But we knew it was bad when we purchased the boat.
Sailing characterisitcs Mainly light air condition and seas in the Gulf of Mexico. It has been a pleasure doing cruises of from 2 to 4 days. Are planning a cruise of several weeks in the spring of 2012.
Motoring characterisitcs Maintains 5 plus knots as long as the propeller is clean. Handles swells fairly good for the size boat.
Liveability We have spent several days aboard at a marina away from our home port and have found the boat to be everything we need. It came equipped with marine A/C and this is a MUST in Florida in the summertime.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Excellent. Only had to order a replacement strap for the stern seat, and was able to get it immediately. The factory is a short drive from our house.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Will not use the same broker again. They delivered everything as promised, but then tried to nickel and dime us to death on minute details we thought the broker should have taken care of. Example, notarizing of legal documents.
Other comments Good interior layout. Very pleased with the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the boat.
