If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes!! We sailed a Catalina-22,(1980, swing-keel #9405), back in the midwest for many years. It was a GREAT boat. Got out of sailing for a few years, but once we moved out to San Diego we sold our powerboat and decided on either a Capri-18, (#1 choice), Capri-22, or another Catalina-22, (86 or newer, wing-keel). Our #1 choice was the Capri-18 due to ease of rigging and trailering, and I didn't want the maintenance of a swing-keel, especially in saltwater. The Capri-18 sails MUCH better, tracks much better, and points higher than expected! Extremely stiff and stable boat. Very comfortable for spending the night with the wife on board. WE LOVE IT!!!
