Review of the Catalina 22 by Martin

Year built 1973
Location of boat Wannsee, Berlin, Germany
The boat is sailed on Lakes
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2004
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? Yes! Among other preferences, the main reason to buy this boat is: Behalf a boat of this shortness, the lines are absolute harmonius, beautiful and it looks like a rank "ship"
Gear that's been added I build a small stationary-mounted pantry (i hate flap-storages)
Structural or complex improvements I streches the mast-strake from the inboerd-shell douwn to the hull and based it correctly on an epoxy-block (the serial construction is an graduated masterstroke - oh jesus! - they put the mast-stroke on an empty plastik yoghurt-cup!)
The boat's best features It is a sturdy boat and i feel safe also in a stormy sea
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. look at: Structural or complex improvements
Sailing characterisitcs It realy needs a little bit of wind before having fun
Motoring characterisitcs With 5 hp adequate motorized
Liveability Cabin and cockpit offers enough room for an extensive weekend-turn
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) No contact with Catalina / Jaguar
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any I bought ma boat from a private owner... dealers i need only for a good joint!
