Sailing characterisitcs This is our 2nd season with this boat. It does have the wing keel and the more I sail her the more I like it. Good light air and when the wind blows hard we reef. Have sailed with 2 reefs in main and the 135 furled to 85% and sheeted flat in winds to 40 mph with little heel and little weather helm with boat speeds to 5 knots. I do have 200 lbs under the V-berth to help her sit on her lines and I have never had a problem with weather helm that others seem to have. We like the way this boat sails.
Motoring characterisitcs For some strange reason when starting from a dead stop or if the boat is still going to stern when forward motion starts the boat turns to port regardless of rudder postition. Have learned to adapt to this. Other than that it is a sail boat under power.
Liveability We find the boat very comfortable for two. Love the rear berth. We enjoy our time on the boat and have spent up to 5 days at time.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) Have not dealt with catalina, yet.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Terrible, would not buy from this dealer again if they were the last dealer in the world selling sailboats, I'd buy a power boat.
Other comments Never thought I would like a Catalina, wife made me buy it, then I fell in love and would buy again from them.
