Review of the Catalina 27 by Dale Gould

Owner bought the boat in 2003  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? absolutly  
Gear that's been added new halyards..old ones worn  
Structural or complex improvements no  
The boat's best features its ability to point and sail well  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Some problems with the diesel engine.. Don't like anchor locker..its very difficult to feed anchor line down the hauser opening  
Sailing characterisitcs Fast as heck..sailed in 25 knot winds with a 150 genoa..swells 5 ft ..handled great...have passed much larger boats in improptu races ..I love this boat  
Motoring characterisitcs 11 hp diesel a big weak against strong tide flow passages..  
Liveability have only spent week ends on her..plenty of room for her size  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) no contact
