Review of the Catalina 380 by Gary jensen

The boat is sailed on Bays, sounds, or protected salt water  
How the boat is used Weekends and longer  
Normal wind strength 23-30 knots  
Average size of crew 2-4  
Liveaboard? No  
Owner bought the boat in 2000  
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? yes!  
Gear that's been added Yes, Foam Luff,cockpit cushions, spinaker halyard, spinaker pole, raft,changed some rigging configurations  
Structural or complex improvements no  
The boat's best features sailing ability, lay out, room, creature features  
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. hard vang attachment at the boom, loose electrical connections, in-mast furler system.  
Sailing characterisitcs Strong winds---39 knots, big, short, erratic waves.  
Motoring characterisitcs good..................  
Liveability excellent with the rear berth arrangement.  
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) very good..........  
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any Yes, I bought the boat on the East Coast @ Blue and Gold Yacht Broker, in Daytona Beach, Flordia.. They were EXCELLENT!!!!!!! and I transported it to California via Dudley Trucking.  
Other comments She is nice and as I get use to her it only gets BETTER!!!!!!!!
