Review of the Catalina 34 by Guystapo

Year built 1998
Location of boat Hudson Florida
The boat is sailed on Open ocean
How the boat is used Weekends and longer
Normal wind strength 10-15 knots
Average size of crew solo
Liveaboard? No
Owner bought the boat in 2004
If the clock could be turned back, would owner buy again? 100%
Gear that's been added Bimini, New sails, Prop, Chart Plotter, helm cover...tons more
Structural or complex improvements No
The boat's best features So easy to sail...
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc. Its hard to get around the steering so there need to be winches further back for solo sailing. Im actually working on that project soon.
Sailing characterisitcs Not the fastes boat but handles well.
Motoring characterisitcs Just put a new prop and while yes it slows a little in light wind it also moves when needed.
Liveability Not sure about living but it would work for a few months.
The owner's experience in dealing with Hunter (if any) They have been very helpfull finding parts and with technicall info.
The owner's experience with the boat dealer or broker, if any
Other comments Overall this is a great boat for what its made for. I have always like Catalinas because of the room inside.
