Built oak radio box that hangs under the starboard cabin shelf. Has UHF radio and AM/FM Stereo. Installed speakers in cabin and marine speakers in cockpit. Also installed RAM mike hookup in cockpit...came with radio so what the heck! Installed antenna on mast, was a pain getting wire through mast.

Structural or complex improvements
Swim ladder was bolted through transom, took it out and placed 5/4 backing to support my weight.Rewired electric start for motor.

The boat's best features
Previous owner replaced teak with mahogany. It looks FANTASTIC. A real show stopper!
Problem areas in terms of design, materials, maintenance, etc.
7.5 Merc is showing it's age, would like to find a newer 4 stroke to replace it. I don't like that there isn't a throughput for the UHF radio antenna, I'm going to have to redo mine so that I don't suffer damage to the boat's core.

Sailing characterisitcs
New to sailing, had no experience at all when I bought this boat...well I'm still here! Obviously the boat to learn to sail on. Still get a little nervous when she heals over...will she really tip over? We haven't yet!
Motoring characterisitcs
Motors great. 7.5 merc is more than enough power, the kids love being dragged behind it.
Liveability
Two adults and two kids, I bet it would be a little too close to sleep over in. We haven't tried yet, the kids also don't like spiders. Tried to tell them it's a fact of life on a boat! Someday though...!
