Give your Cat 30 a new look

posted 10-07-2008 by Ron Chandler

My old cushions used to date my Cat 30. I finally decided to try and make new ones. Quotes from shops were $800 to $1200 for new cushions. I did it myself in a few weekends for UNDER $200! I found a great deal on the fabric.

New cushions make a world of difference.

I purchased a sailrite machine and finally started to make some great covers. Here is ENCORE sporting a lot of sunbrella. It is easier than you think to make great looking canvas projects.

Cockpit Cover

This was a simple modification that I made in one weekend. I am into the project about $74.00. Notice the stainless hardware used to hold the shelf. Also the lamp folds back for headroom when needed.

Need a place for china?

Another view of the shelf. The most expensive part of this project was the teak trim $25.00
Parts:
3 teak
12 X 24 Poplar wood
12 7/8 stainless tubing
stainless mounting hardware
(Lighthouse China) optional

China shelf

I wanted easier access to seating. So I built the U shape. Forward next to the bulkhead is the house battery bank. 4 Trojan T-105s. The table drops for additional berthing.
