Installed using the Fred Ficarra method, thanks Fred. Lewmar remote plugs in to water proof connection in anchor locker. Remote is held in holder that comes with the windlass, mounted on underside of anchor locker hatch. Remote is removed when away from the boat. Catalina anchor locker is not great for chain but the location of the hawse hole drops the chain. You have to clear the pile every 30 feet or so.

3/4 inch ply epoxy coated. left piece is backing plate. centre piece goes between deck and windlass - fits around pulpit forward braces and acts as a pad for anchor roller as well. (right piece is bow seat. All painted with marine enamel.

Forward part of anchor hatch is cut and is fixed in place. aft section is hinged. ends of both pieces sealed with epoxy.

Wires from windlass are long enough to reach through a small hole in the top/aft of anchor locker, so no splices in the damp anchor locker. Similar gauge wire connected and runs to small locker at foot of v-berth (under anchor locker) where solenoid/controller is located. In same locker a 3 conductor strip used to connect the lewmar remote from the anchor locker and a rocker switch located in the port cockpit coaming o the solenoid/controller. The main power wires run along the underside of the Vberth under the hanging locker area through the starboard locker to neg bus and breaker in the chart table area.
