General condition and any additional information
Bella Donna is a 1992 Catalina 30MKII tall rig. She has been sailed exclusively on western Lake Superior in the Duluth/Superior and Apostle Islands regions.
She is a well behaved boat, sailing well both up and down wind. The battened main and roller furling headsail make sail handling easy. The Universal M25XP motor starts easily and runs well. With the 23HP motor and three bladed prop you will never have an issue making way in any weather. When youre ready to anchor the shoal draft keel makes it easy to pull in tight to anchorages and spend the night on the water. The spacious cabin sleeps six, two in the V Berth, two on the cabin table, and two in the deep quarter berth.
She comes with a full instrument set (wind, depth, speed, and a new autopilot in 2019) as well as a Standard Horizon CP150 GPS/Chart Plotter. Most of the running rigging has been updated over the past 3 years. Both sails were new in 2014.
The boat has been updated to LED lighting through out the interior as well as LED anchor and deck lighting. The two lead acid batteries were purchased new in 2016.
Finally, the galley is well situated with a two burner LP stove and oven, adler barbour 12 volt refrigeration system, and dual stainless steel sinks. A six gallon Seaward S600 water heater (new in 2016) provides hot water for the head, galley, and cockpit shower.
When it comes to winterizing Bella Donna comes with a new (2020) custom winter cover--no need for expensive shrink wrap each year.
The Catalina 30 is a classic boat with years of history and a strong community found online and in marinas around the country. Bella Donna is a fine example of a boat that will provide years of fun for you and your family.
