Toilet conversion from manual to electric

posted 03-08-2015 by Paul Mirenda

The most common complaint about my Catalina 30 MKIII is a cramped toilet mounted against the wall to allow room for the manual pump.

I converted the toilet from a manual pump to 12v electric pump using a standard Jabsco conversion kit (37010-0092), then repositioned the toilet in the center of the new space for more room on all sides. The head is now angled similar to the layout on the Catalina 315.

1) Remove the manual hand pump from the base of the toilet.

2) Use Jabsco 12v electric conversion kit to connect electric pump and connect a new base.

3) Using PVC material, build up the floor under the toilet to raise the toilet allowing the pump to clear the curved floor.

4) Angle the toilet to be parallel with the sink basin.

5) Hook up all plumbing and run 12 v wires for the electric pump.
